Wii don't get Dolby Digital

According to official documentation that was made available todeveloper studios, the Wii will not be able to utilize Dolby Digital sound output. It is not because of hardware limitations, but because of a single audio/visual jack that will not support Dolby Digital. Instead, Dolby Pro Logic II will be used to simulate 5.1 surround sound, as it was on the Gamecube. There may still be time to add Dolby Digital to the system's capabilities, but I wouldn't expect it.
